The CRS certification scheme upscaling Indian manufacturers' competitiveness and offering Indian consumers world class quality products. The policy prevents faulty/non-compliant products from being dumped onto the market. According to the Compulsory Registration Order, any entity manufacturing, importing, selling, or distributing goods that do not meet the specifications of Indian Standard is required to register with the government.
The Bureau of Indian Standards allows only a manufacturer to apply a Standard Mark with a unique R-number on a product. The registration is based on self-declarations of conformity. Tested in a BIS-certified lab, the product is then registered with the department with the manufacturer's name, address, brand name, and type of product. A manufacturer can produce for more than one brand.
According to Scheme - II of Schedule - II of BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018, the grant of the license and its operation under the Compulsory Registration Scheme is carried out in accordance with the conformity assessment scheme.
As a result of our coordination with testing laboratories, BIS officials, and our knowledge of guidelines and parameters for product registration, our clients can minimize their expenses and registration times.
