Toy Registration

Toy Registration

According to the communication of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of September 1, 2017, the importation of toys (all articles under the EXIM codes 95030010, 95030020, 95030030 and 95030090) is freely allowed if accompanied by a certificate confirming that the toys imported are confirmed to be the standard of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards).
According to the notification, the products must be tested by a NABL certified laboratory and a conformity test report is issued, which is valid for both manufacture and import.

Toy Order 2020 (Scheme-1 ISI)

The latest notification dated February 25, 2020 states that the toy registration process is included in Schedule I of Appendix II of the 2018 BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulation. See the Toy E Gazette, also called Toy Order 2020, which applies to all toy manufacturers.
All toys and materials designed for children under 14 to play are covered by the program and must bear the ISI mark upon registration.
